Lord Help Me With Home school. It seems to come so natural for other moms. For me it’s a forever dream turned into a nightmare.
I’m exaggerating, there are more better days than bad days.
I have so much to learn.
Last year I got discouraged, overwhelmed, and burned out. There are so many things for me to figure out as a new Home school mom. This coming up fall will be our third year. My seven year old will be in first grade and my five year old daughter will be in Kindergarten.
Our family has chosen online public school through Connections academy. We like it and it’s very comparable to other Home School curriculum’s that I have researched, and it’s free. That is a plus for us.
My struggles have been with time management, balance, schedule, routine, kids wanting mommy to play and not teach. Even though our second year was better than our first, I still feel unsure how to manage.
How does one find time to do it all? We cook, clean, shop, research, invent, and teach. Plus so much more.
I’m determined to figure it out. I’m surrounded by other Home school moms. I watch and listen to how they do things. I implement ideas that fit for our family. Thank God for Home school moms who offer their time to mentor.
A couple of months ago I bumped into Author Traci Matt who recently published a book that’s helping me overcome Home school obstacles..
. “Don’t Waste Your Time Homeschooling: 72 Things I Wish I’d Known”
First time I read this book, I couldn’t put it down. Now I’m reading and taking notes. So many of my questions are being answered. I’m feeling hopeful and full of ideas for fall.
