Busy Moms Can Be Bloggers Too

You can be a Blogger no matter how busy you are. No more putting your desire to be an author on hold.  Now is the time to deliver your message.

Don’t wait for a quiet day or when you have all the laundry done.   Don’t wait for the kids to grow up.  God has a message for you to share and now is the time.

I started blogging around August 2014.   My desire to share God’s amazing grace and share my heart could not be put on hold any longer.  I felt a calling on my life to teach, counsel, mentor and encourage other moms and writers through words.

I have not missed one day blogging since I started.  My days are rich with excitement.  I’m passionate about what God has called me to do.

I’m a homeschooling mom of a seven year old and five year old.   The majority of my time is filled with love and laughter for my kids.    I’m a busy Mom and Blogger all at the same time.  I don’t have to choose between the two.  I’m determined to do both and to do both of them well. Daily I’m challenged to find a balance between the two and I haven’t yet.

I don’t think there is a balance.

Children need me the most.  I can’t be replaced.  Blogging can wait.  It’s not right for children to compete for my attention.   I don’t have a set schedule for blogging.  For the needs of my family change from day to day.

The beauty of being a homeschooling family is that we can be flexible with our time. We get up and go to bed when we feel like it.  Within reason of course.  We do what makes sense to us.

We have a daily routing that we feel free to change from time to time.  We take each other’s needs in consideration before our own expectations.

It’s nearly impossible to schedule a blogging time into my day.

I believe that is why I’m so successful with finding time for blogging.  I don’t wait for my time to blog.  Because there is no one set time to do it.   At least not with little kids.   Moms can’t depend on nap or bed time to schedule in blogging.  Kids get sick, sad, silly, or lonely.  There is always one more book to read.  Or one more song to sing.    And let’s not forget that our husbands need us too.

Then there is homemaking which seems to require a great amount of discipline.   We basically get to do the same thing over and over every day and there is no end to it.

I have accepted that my kind of homemaking is a whole lot of control chaos.  It’s always a messy place and I just do enough to show that I care.   Our home is definitely a place filled with life and laughter.    That is all that matters.

I don’t let things control me and that is why I have time to blog every day.

I keep my life simple and I don’t over commit.   I weed out activities that have nothing to do with my long term plans as a blogger.  Sitting on the couch watching television is a waste of time for me.   Hanging out on Facebook just reading about other people’s life is not an option for me.

I have goals for my blog and daily I create time to meet them.

Finding time to blog takes creativity.

I blog for a short time when my kids take their morning break from school work.  Before I go to bed I take time to blog.    I’m constantly writing myself little notes so that I don’t forget what I want to write about when I actually do get to post.  This saves so much time.

I can blog daily because my husband supports my passion.

Blogging is my ministry and I need time to serve.  I’m on a mission and I’m called to do this.  My husband is excited for me and he has agreed to help me.

He is easy going and he finds things to do on his own while I type away.  He helps around the house.  He brings in the money so that I don’t have to work outside the home.  He takes the kids out on dates and gives me a quiet home where I can blog.

I work hard and that is why I have an amazing Blog.

Most nights I stay up until 2:00 am blogging.  I can’t go to sleep until I complete my daily goals for my blog.   I never tire from what I do.  I’m on fire!!   I know I can do it, I see where it is going, and I have no choice but to do it.

I do it because I said yes to God.

I believe you can do it too.  You just have to put your mind to it and be creative with your time.

I would love to have you sign up for my monthly email newsletters.  I am full of surprises and it is always a pleasure to share with others.

  1. Great post!!! You are right, the balance is hard. I struggle with the balance because Im called to write, speak, mother, and serve in a few different ministries. But Im on fire for it all….but still my biggest struggle is discouragement, or wondering if what I say matters. God is faithful and still working on this in me. Thanks for showing us how you do it all! You are certainly blessing so many women and I am one of them. Thank you for your support.

  2. Thanks Kortney for your kind words and encouragement. We know we are in God’s will when what we do fuels us and sets us on fire. I’m excited to see you grow in your ministry. And I’m glad that we get to write together and share our journey. Blessings to you today my sweet friend.
