Praising God In The Storms by Betty Daley

storms

Lately I have been hit with many storms.  From health issues to financial hardships.  Last night, I began to really think about my attitude in these storms of life.  Many times, I failed to praise God.  In fact, to be honest, there were days I wanted to yell at Him.  I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs ” Why are You allowing this to happen?”

As I look back, I became ashamed of my behavior.  He is a good God! A sovereign God.  He is in control and even when I don’t see Him working in my life, He deserves my praise.  Why you ask?  The simple answer is because He is WORTHY OF PRAISE!  He loves us and was willing to give His Son to die for us.  He puts up with our arguing and complaining and still He pursues us.  He never leaves us or forsakes us.  How awesome is that?!

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”  ~Hebrews 13:5~

During trials and tribulations, we have a hard time seeing the good that may come from it.  When we come out on the other side of the situations, we then can see God’s hand.  He was there!  He never left our side!

God’s love for us is unfathomable.  He loves us even when we fail Him.  He loves us when we doubt Him. I wish I could love others the way He loves us.  My favorite verse on His love for us is John 3:16. The Amplified version is so amazing.

For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.

I made a promise to myself and God yesterday.  I have decided that when I feel like murmuring and complaining, I am going to praise Him instead.  I will put on a worship song or I will hum a tune.  I will not allow Satan to get me down.  Won’t you join me?

When I was writing this a little song came to mind:

Praise Him!

Praise Him!

Praise Him in the morning,

Praise Him in the noontime.

Praise Him!

Praise Him!

Praise Him when the sun goes down!
