YOUR LIFE HAS PURPOSE! God can use you in a mighty way! I remember thinking that being a stay at home mom, wife, and homeschool teacher was not important. Satan use to make me feel so inadequate and like my life had no real purpose, then God showed me that He was doing mighty things because of my obedience to Him. I didn’t need to question if my life had purpose. Of course it does!!! I am training up my children to live for Him. I am a helpmeet for my husband. I am giving my children a good education so they will be able to accomplish God’s call on their lives. Being a mom and wife are ministries. We have a HUGE responsibility in our homes. God can and will use us if we surrender our days to Him.
Many times, we lose sight of the purpose that God has for us. We think that we must keep up with our friends or family in order to be happy and fulfilled, but that is just not true. God has a different plan for each of us. His purpose for our life may look different than His purpose for our neighbor down the street or our best friend at church. We have to trust that He knows what is best for us. We may not understand, others may not understand, but we just need to have faith in His plans. Each season of life will have meaning, we just need to be aware that God makes no mistakes and He has us right where He wants us if we are being obedient to Him.
Don’t allow Satan to lie to you and tell you that you do not matter. He will try his hardest to keep you from fulfilling God’s direction for your life. I am here to tell you that he is a liar. He is a thief. He will try to steal your joy. He will do his best to make you feel like you aren’t being productive, but that is not true. You are a child of God. He is pleased when you have faith in Him and allow Him to work in you and through you. God’s plans will always produce good! It may not always be easy, but it will be worth it!!!
As we begin a new year, it is so easy to get caught up in making new year’s resolutions and then feeling like a failure when we don’t carry through with them. This year I decided not to make one resolution. Instead I am making monthly goals for myself, our marriage, our homeschool, and our household. I will be praying over each goal and asking God to help me to accomplish them if it be His will. I am looking to Him in helping me make these goals so I do not miss His plan for us. He has a good plan for each of our lives and I would never want to miss His calling for my own foolish plans.
Are you ready to begin this new year with a renewed confidence in who God has called you to be? I encourage you to sit down and write out some goals that you would like to accomplish. It’s important to be real and honest in your goal making and to give God priority in all you do.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. ~ Romans 8:28
